Nihongo Learn is designed with your privacy in mind. We do not collect personal information, we do not track you, and we do not show ads. Your data stays on your device.
Data Collection & Storage
What We Store
Nihongo Learn stores usage data such as your study progress, quiz scores, lesson completion status, and earned coins. This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to any external servers.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect any personal information, including your name, email address, location, or device identifiers. No account creation or login is required to use the app.
iCloud Sync
Optional Cross-Device Backup
Nihongo Learn offers optional iCloud sync to back up your progress and allow cross-device access. If enabled, your study data is stored in your personal iCloud account, managed entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your iCloud data. You can disable iCloud sync at any time in your device’s Settings.
Third Parties & Advertising
No Third-Party Sharing
Your data is never collected, sold, shared, or transferred to any third parties. Nihongo Learn does not contain any advertising SDKs, analytics trackers, or third-party data collection frameworks.
No Ads
Nihongo Learn is completely ad-free. There are no banner ads, interstitial ads, or sponsored content of any kind within the app.
In-App Purchases
Apple-Managed Transactions
All subscription and in-app purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple and is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not have access to your payment details.
Speech & Audio
On-Device Processing Only
Nihongo Learn uses on-device speech synthesis for pronunciation features. No audio recordings or voice data are sent to external servers. All speech processing happens locally on your device.
Children’s Privacy
Safe for All Ages
Because we do not collect any personal information from any user, Nihongo Learn is safe for users of all ages. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations worldwide.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
